Bug List 2A
These are 20 things that really bug me:
1. My black Ford Mustang gets really hot inside after being in the parking lot in the sun all day.
This happens because Florida gets really hot in the summers and the color of my car holds the heat in even more and adds to the problem.
2. My dress shoes I have to wear to work are not breathable and my feet get very hot while wearing them all day.
This is caused by the leather they are made of and the fact that they do not have a mesh material that lets air in while still remaining a nice enough looking shoe.
3. Beach umbrellas don’t stay up very good when the wind picks up at all at the beach. They also break very easily especially when they tumble down the coast!
Umbrellas are made to be pretty cheap so they don’t stay in the sand very well. They also flip upside down in the wind pretty easily and often are broken that way as well.
4. Bathrooms that only have the blow dryers to dry your hands aggravate me because sometimes I need paper towels when they hand dryers are not good enough.
This is because companies use blow dryers to save money and be greener. The dryers are not good enough in my opinion to stand alone and not have paper towels as well.
5. Waxing my car takes forever and is annoying to do when it dries too fast in the hot sun.
This is caused because waxing must be done by hand so it is tedious. It also dries very fast because it comes in liquid form.
6. It bothers me that my credit card statement doesn’t take out money for a whole month after the purchase.
This is because the way the statements run and the way automatic payments are set up they don’t go into effect until a month or more after the purchase.
7. It aggravates me all the food we waste each day when it goes out of date or we just don’t use it while there are people starving here and around the world.
This caused by the spoiled and comfortable lives we live as well as not having an easy and viable option with which to give our extra food to be used.
8. When they mess up your order at a restaurant or drive through it is very frustrating and frequently happens when you eat with a large group.
This can happen when there are more people at a table than a server can handle or when the server is not very experienced and has not been trained properly.
9. In Peru it is really annoying and smelly when you cannot flush any toilet paper.
This because their sewage system and the pipes that the sewage goes into, cannot handle the added mass and frequently clogs and explode. It is like this in many other countries as well.
10. I hate when you sit on the toilet and your feet “fall asleep” and go numb.
Okay maybe I am the only one but it really aggravates me when I am sitting there reading there or on my phone for a few minutes and my feet go numb! This is caused by a lack of blood flow while sitting hunched over.
11. Out on an offshore boat when you are sitting still fishing it gets very hot very quickly out there.
This caused by the sun that reflects off the water and heats up the boat. Also when you are not moving and if there is no breeze it can be very stuffy and add to the heat.
12. It is aggravating how quickly computers are out of date and can’t download the new softwares to keep them running smoothly.
This is caused by the every changing technology that comes out and because the companies do not want your computer to last forever so that you then have to go buy a new one.
13. It bugs me when I run out of cell data on my phone or when the “unlimited” slows down to speeds that are basically useless.
This is caused by either having a plan with not enough phone data or the cell phone companies essentially limiting your data usage while saying you have unlimited data.
14. When I wake up in the morning and my hair is sticking up everywhere and it is very hard to fix.
This is called “bed head” and happens when I sleep in one position and my hair is pinned up and then cannot lie down in a natural position.
15. I hate when your car gets scratched and no matter what you try it still never looks as good as it did before.
Even when using touch up paint, it usually never matches up right and it also generally does not leave a smooth finish. This can also be a result of the factory paint simply scratching too easily.
16. I hate when after shaving my beard the trimmings go all over the place and they are a pain to clean up.
This is because even if you use a razor that catches the trimmings, they generally still do not catch all of the trimmings because the razor kicks the hair up and all over the place.
17. Social media bugs me and the amount of time people will spend on it trying to put up a fake front for others to see instead of actually bettering themselves.
I think this is because it is simply easier to put up a fake front than it is to actually be a different person and change something about you. It is also much easier to have shallow in-personal relationships through social media than to maintain close friendships.
18. It is aggravating how often I have to fill up with gas and dealing with the lines at the gas station.
My car and many trucks use a lot of gasoline. The tanks do not hold a whole lot due to safety reasons and fuel efficiency is still lacking in some models.
19. I don’t like the way sun screen feels and how quickly it comes off in the water especially in the ocean with the waves.
At the beach, the power of the waves and grit of the sand makes the sunscreen wear off and then you are susceptible to sun burn even though you think you have sun screen on.
20. It is aggravating at work when I try to help someone find a job and offer advice and they won’t take the advice because they think they are better at something than they really are.
I work as a recruiter at a staffing company and when I try to offer some people help and advice on a job, they are often prideful and think that they are better than they are. This is caused by either arrogance or lack of knowledge about a particular market.
This exercise was very difficult, but in a way extremely rewarding. It caused me to think outside of the box and look at things in a new light. Honestly, it also gave me ideas about how I could make a difference and possibly change some of these things that bother me. I have always had a tough time being creative, but anyone can identify problems and seek to find solutions. In conclusion, this exercise was beneficial and very eye opening to me. I will work to live life with this point of view from now on.

Hello Bryce!
ReplyDeleteI found your post very relatable and interesting. I also had a challenging time coming up with different things and situations that bugged me. It was hard to take a step back and look at the world differently than I had been seeing it but it was indeed very rewarding. I'm hoping that this mindset will stick with me, as a change in perspective can be very eye-opening. Great post!
