ENT 16A Secret Sauce

What I think my human capital is:
1. My work experience is fairly unique for my age. I have worked at a staffing company as a recruiter conducting interviews and applicant screenings for about a year and a half. This experience has helped me develop an understanding of who to hire and what to look for in an employee.
2. My integrity and character is something that I pride myself in and invest much time and energy into growing as a person and how I can best help others. I have sacrificed large amounts of time and money into growing as a person and participating in ways to help others.
3. My passion for sports and outdoors has led to developing skills and knowledge in multiple fields around that area. I have spent many years playing sports both competitively and recreationally. I also own a boat that I purchased to be able to go fishing and enjoy the outdoors. I have developed skills in these areas that take time and a desire to invest into these fields.
4. My desire for adventure and willingness to take risks and travel is something that is important to me as well. I have been to multiple countries on missions trips and enjoy helping others there. I have also been to multiple places that others did not want to go including San Pedro Sula, Honduras which is known as the murder capital of the world, as well as high in the Andes mountains of Peru eclipsing 16,000 ft of elevation.
5. My ability to communicate well in front of people and a comfort with public speaking allows me to present well naturally. I have given many presentations over the years and have performed or spoken in front of thousands of people on occasion for events. This has helped me conquer the fear of public speaking and has helped me learn how to effectively present information.

This was one of my younger siblings. She focused on my work ethic and personality as well. She also mentioned I like to make things fun.

This was my other sister. She talked about my desire to serve others and also my experience in going to other countries and helping others.

Reflection:
I believe the way I see myself and the way that others see me line up fairly well. The people I interviewed were all very close so they knew me well. Overall one of the main things that I did not think about that they did was my ability to learn quickly and gain a valuable education rather effectively. I think that the people I interviewed were correct in their assessments and have known me long enough to know my skills and abilities as well as my emotional intelligence. I think I would add my education to the list of things in part one as this is something that not everyone has and is something that I take seriously and desire to grow in.

  1. Hey Bryce,
I do believe a common secret sauce that we students possess is our uniqueness. Especially in UF, a very diverse school, some of us may hold experiences that others never thought before. I, too, also share your risk-taking and travel. This desire has made me commit to an Economics major and pursue a career in the banking industry.

  2. Hi Bryce,

I really liked your post and what you had to say with yourself along with what your interviewees had to say about you. I also believe that communication is one of my top strengths. I believe that this is an amazing strength to have for an entrepreneur because of how versatile of a skill it can be. Communicating our ideas with ourselves and others is an incredible useful skill in this aspect.

  3. Hi Bryce,

I can relate to your job experience being so young. I began working as a purchasing agent when I was 18 for 3 years. The qualities you mentioned are definitely special and give you a unique advantage to others. Especially communication.
